Mauldin Real Estate

Mauldin, SC

History

Benjamin Griffith was awarded 100 acres of land in what is now called Mauldin and he can be considered the earliest known settler. When Willis Butler bought a home at the town’s crossroad – Laurens Road & Reedy River Road, it became more commonly referred to as Butler’s Corners or simply “Butlers.” Mauldin was incorporated as a town in 1960, after World War II. The name of the city is an homage to Lt. Gov. WL Mauldin for his assistance with getting Greenville Laurens Railroad Company through Maulden before it became moved south and westward towards Greer County Line Road–creating one continuous line from Greers Ferry Dam up north past Duncan on into Georgia all the way down to Atlanta!
